Contaminated soils are the result from past industrial activities when disposal of hazardous substances and when environmental effects of industrialization were not a major concern.
To contribute to the development of a sustainable environment, GALACTIC launched GALIREM, a product line dedicated to bioremediation.
Bioremediation is an option that offers the possibility to destroy or render harmless various contaminants using natural biological activity. It is safer and less expensive than alternative solutions such as bioventing, excavation or off-site treatment.
GALIREM is specifically used in anaerobic in-situ bioremediation to treat organochlorides as well as heavy metals. Depending on the site and its contaminants, GALACTIC offers different grades for injection into the soil, allowing the user to better control the process. Different grades are also available according to hydrogen release ability, viscosity and release time.
