Our role and responsibility in navigating COVID-19 virus

Dear customers, partners, suppliers

For several months the humankind has been dealing with a pandemic which is unique in modern history, that affects all of us in every aspect of our lives. During this crisis, Galactic bears a particular responsibility: today our products are more than ever needed to ensure continuous supply of our customers, the majority of which are active in the food sector.

We started to confront the coronavirus in China. It then spread in the rest of Asia. Now Europe has become the focal point, heading to both Americas, with Galactic operational offices and plants located in all the mentioned regions.

To deal with this pandemic, we decided to set up and oversee a dedicated crisis unit at the Executive Committee level in order to coordinate the decisions taken by the group on a daily basis, and the measures being implemented in each countries where we operate according to the evolution of the situation and in line with the latest recommendations of national authorities.

My absolute priority today is to protect the health and safety of all Galactic’s employees worldwide. We have made every effort to drastically strengthen the rules of cohabitation and hygiene within our facilities, as well in line with the latest recommendations of national authorities.

At the same time, it is essential that we work to ensure the availability, security and integrity of our products, that have now become critical for the continued functioning of our society.

We are happy to inform we can count on our very dedicated staff worldwide which we can’t thank enough. Galactic worldwide teams work every day during this hectic period to offer a quality service and continue delivering our products. Our colleagues who can perform their work remotely from home are encouraged to do so. We ensure you can reach anytime your Galactic contact person, customer or quality support teams.

Those still working in our production facilities are refraining from handshakes or any physical contact. Hygiene and prevention measures (as “social distancing”) are being re-doubled. Access of foreigners, suppliers, visitors is being restricted.

By adopting these rules in our Belgian, American, Chinese, Japanese, Moldovan and Brazilian sites, we are confident we will be able to overcome this unprecedented crisis and come out from this difficult experience stronger.

Take good care of yourself and your loved ones.
